Habitat and Vegetation Surveys and Mapping

Vegetation surveys are one of the fundamental parts of ecological and biodiversity surveys. Vegetation is classified according to structure and species composition following systematic field sampling. Vegetation maps are compiled from aerial photographs, satellite imagery and ground truthing. Habitat assessments are then derived from the vegetation surveys.

Habitat and vegetation surveys are undertaken by field ecologists with expertise in the categorisation and assessment of the wildlife value of habitats and landscape.
