Mine closure planning provides for the preparation of mine reclamation, through a list of reclamation activities and assigning a cost to them, which is the total amount which will be required for mine rehabilitation and should be set aside for this during the life of the mine. Services provided include assessment of pre-mining conditions, mine development impacts, long-term physical and chemical stability of mine structures, design of reclamation and closure measures, and the monitoring requirements of the above. 

Services for mine closure plans include the optimization of closure measures to minimize closure costs, calculation of closure fund requirements, review and evaluation of plans and closure costs prepared by others, and alternatives analysis for assessing various plan options.
