Honoring the Past to Protect Our Future: World Wetland Day 2026

To celebrate World Wetland Day 2026, the Waste Management Network is hosting a special meeting dedicated to the preservation of Zimbabwe’s vital water ecosystems. This year’s global theme, “Wetlands and traditional knowledge: Celebrating cultural heritage,” serves as the backdrop for a morning of expert insights and community action.

Wetlands are often the “unsung heroes” of our environment—filtering our water, preventing floods, and providing a home to incredible biodiversity. This event aims to bridge the gap between modern environmental science and the traditional wisdom that has protected these lands for generations.
